What it's actually like to eat here

The kind of place you bring people when you want to look like you have good taste. The wood-grilled sirloin alone is worth the drive — properly charred outside, perfectly pink inside. Service was warm without being fussy.

Booked a table for my parents' anniversary and mentioned a small note in the special requests. When we arrived three weeks later, they'd actually remembered it. Small kitchen, but it runs with a lot of heart.

Portions are generous and the Sunday ragù is genuinely one of the best I've had outside Italy. Docking one star only because it gets loud on weekend evenings — go earlier if you want a quieter conversation.

Ate solo at the bar on a Tuesday and it might be my favourite meal of the year so far. Watching the grill cook work is half the fun. The charcoal half chicken is criminally underrated compared to the steak.

The burnt butter cake deserves its own paragraph. I've thought about it at least once a week since I ate it in April. Also appreciated that they clearly labelled every vegetarian and gluten-free dish on the menu.

Consistently good over three visits, which honestly says more than any single great meal could. It's not a cheap night out, but portions and quality justify it. Would love a slightly bigger dessert selection.
